Abstract

Services sector of Pakistan is growing significantly in last few years. The major part of the services sector is information and communication technology sector. This sector of Pakistan has very potential that can improve our foreign direct investment problem as well as the other economic issues. Now it has made the world to become a global village. only as a result of information and communication technology. The study found out that what factors affects the information and communication technology exports of Pakistan and whether direct correlation or inverse relationship with economic growth of Pakistan, in the short or in the long run. The study used the econometric model ARDL to analyze the impact of ICT exports on economic growth by using different variables likewise human capital, ICT exports, FDI in ICT, GDP, exchange rate. Data has been obtained from the ministry of commerce and ministry of education. The findings suggested that there exists positive relationship among ICT exports and economic growth of the country, also study will help policy makers and other interested parties that how could we increase our ICT exports and how much it would prove beneficial for the country.
